The National Centre for Middle East Studies held a meeting on Wednesday evening, 20 July, in the presence of a delegation from the Centre for American Progress. A number of Egyptian experts discussed the efforts exerted by the Egyptian state and its institutions to counter extremism, as well as, regional and international policies to counter terrorism and the extremist ideology. All the recommendations that resulted from the meeting revolved around the necessity of an Egyptian-American cooperation in countering extremism and terrorism.
