The significance and the perspectives of the visit of the Russian vice-minister of foreign affairs to Sudan:

Russian-Sudanese relations are heading towards a common strategic ground in this period, It seems like the indicators are numerous but the most notable of which is the last visit of the Russian vice-minister of Foreign affairs to Sudan on the 17th of March. Though this visit reflects the strong political and economic mutual interests, but it sheds the light on some strategic mutual interests of a paramount importance; these are; First: The Russian desire to introduce itself as an alternative to the US to boost its strategic interests in the Red Sea and the horn of Africa, Second: Both countries want to foster their economic partnership on the long-run, Finally: Sudan’s need for the Russian support against the US pressures on the former especially regarding the file of human rights and terrorism.
